This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which the School collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users of the School and its Courses. In this Privacy Policy, "School," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Wonderland Education Korea the operator of this School. "You" and "Student" refer to any person who accesses the School or enrolls in a Course.

This Privacy Policy applies to the School and all Courses offered by the School. By enrolling in the School or otherwise using it, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not enroll in or use the School.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways.

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account and enrollment information: name, email address, and password when you create an account or enroll in a Course.
  • Payment information: when you purchase a Course, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (see Section 4). We do not collect or store your full payment card number; we may receive limited transaction data such as confirmation of payment, the last four digits of your card, billing country, and billing name.
  • Communications: information you provide when you contact us, submit a support request, respond to a survey, or subscribe to a newsletter.
  • Course activity: progress, submissions, comments, or other content you voluntarily submit within a Course.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you use the School, certain information is collected automatically through the Teachable platform and related technologies, including:

  • device and browser type, IP address, and general location (e.g., country);
  • pages viewed, links clicked, and Course progress; and
  • cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

2.3 Anonymous browsing

You may visit the School anonymously. We collect personal identification information only where you voluntarily submit it. You may refuse to supply personal identification information, but doing so may prevent you from enrolling in or using certain School-related features.

3. How We Use Collected Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • to provide, operate, and deliver the Courses you enroll in;
  • to process payments and manage your account;
  • to respond to your customer service requests and support needs;
  • to send you administrative and transactional emails relating to your order, account, or Course;
  • to send you newsletters or updates where you have subscribed or where otherwise permitted by law (you may opt out at any time);
  • to understand, in aggregate, how Students use the School so we can improve and personalize the experience; and
  • to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

Legal bases (EU/UK Students): Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to deliver Courses you purchase); your consent (e.g., for marketing emails or non-essential cookies); our legitimate interests (e.g., improving and securing the School); and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Payment Processing (Stripe)

All payments for Courses are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor, and through the Teachable platform on which the School is hosted. When you make a purchase, your payment card information is collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not directly collect or store your full payment card details.

We encourage you to review Stripe's privacy policy and Teachable's privacy policy to understand how they handle your information.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The School, through the Teachable platform, uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and analyze site usage. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the School to function; others are used for analytics or personalization.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Where required by law (for example, in the EU/UK), non-essential cookies are used only with your consent.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Students' personal identification information to others.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers / processors: with third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as Teachable (hosting the School), Stripe (payment processing), and email or analytics providers. These parties may process your information only as necessary to provide their services to us.
  • Legal requirements: where required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a governmental request, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • Business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

The Courses offered by the School are primarily designed for K–12 learners. Our approach to children's personal information is as follows:

  • Purchases are made only by a parent, legal guardian, or another adult (age 18 or older).
  • Students aged 13 and older may create and use their own accounts. If the Student is a minor (under the age of majority in their jurisdiction), they should do so with the consent and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Children under 13 are not permitted to create their own accounts. A child under 13 may access the Courses only through an account created and managed by their parent or legal guardian.
  • United States (COPPA): We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has created an account or provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at info@wonderlandkorea.com and we will take steps to delete such information.
  • EU/UK (GDPR): Where a child is below the applicable age of digital consent (which varies by country, generally 13–16), any processing that relies on consent must be authorized or given by the holder of parental responsibility.
  • Korea: For children under 14, the consent of a legal representative is required where applicable law so provides.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, or otherwise in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.

Parents and guardians are responsible for the accounts they create or supervise and for supervising their child's use of the Courses.

8. International Data Transfers

Wonderland Education Korea is based in the Republic of Korea, and the School is hosted on the Teachable platform, which may store and process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the School from outside these countries, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required by law, we take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Courses and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to comply with our legal obligations (including tax and accounting requirements), to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • the right to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • the right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • the right to delete your information ("right to erasure");
  • the right to restrict or object to certain processing;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
  • the right to opt out of marketing communications.

EU/UK Students (GDPR)

You may exercise the rights above and also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California Students (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of their personal information, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information.

Korea (PIPA)

Where the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea applies, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and suspend the processing of your personal information.

11. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Much of the security of your data also depends on the Teachable and Stripe platforms, which maintain their own security measures.

12. Third-Party Websites

You may find links to the websites and services of partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors, and other third parties within the School. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content or practices of these third-party sites. These sites have their own privacy policies, and your interaction with them is subject to their terms and policies. We encourage you to review them.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at our discretion. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued enrollment in or use of the School following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

14. Your Acceptance of These Terms

By enrolling in the School, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not enroll in the School.
